Project Aim:

Hive & Honey is a social enterprise dedicated to eliminating period poverty by providing sustainable menstrual health and employment solutions to women and girls in need.

Our $50 Hive & Honey Dignity Pack includes:

  • 5 pairs of reusable period underwear
  • 2 reusable waterproof wash bags
  • A handmade soap bar
  • Educational materials on menstruation, hygiene, and sanitation

Our eco-friendly products reduce reliance on single-use items, promote long-term menstrual health, and empower recipients to fully participate in education, work, and community life. This initiative combines ethical production, community empowerment, and health education to create lasting impact.

Why:

Period poverty affects millions worldwide, limiting access to menstrual products and clean sanitation facilities—especially in disadvantaged communities. Hive & Honey addresses these challenges by:

  • Providing affordable or free menstrual products
  • Improving access to clean water and safe sanitation
  • Reducing environmental waste from single-use products
  • Breaking stigma and promoting open discussion
  • Supporting education and reducing absenteeism
  • Creating employment for Cambodian women through fair, ongoing work

Our Goal:

Our goal is to restore dignity, improve health outcomes, and build stronger communities. By 2030, we aim to support over 10,000 women and girls in Cambodia and Australia with dignity packs.

Project Update:

March 27, 2026
From our founding President Kellie:

"What a great 4 days in Siem Reap getting our Hive + Honey period project ready to rock n roll we have got agreements with 2 of our fav NGO’s Heartprint and Vision Cambodia to make our dignity kits - giving 10 women training in making them and paying them fair trade wages - our big dream is coming to life and we are beyond ecstatic can wait to get these life changing kits put to women in need."

April 9, 2026:

Our amazing Hiver Ebony is in Siem Reap training our sewers on how to make our Hive + Honey period undies and our regular BeeKind undies.

The amazing team at heartprint_cambodia have worked with us to get the ladies and we are beyond excited about what we can achieve in eliminating period poverty - one pair of undies at a time !

Day one of our sewing group and we are well on our way to getting 4 ladies trained.

April 11, 2026:

Wow we are blown away with the amazing women and heartprint_cambodia on getting our Hive + Honey period project off the ground

Below is from the amazing Hiver Ebony who has worked tirelessly with the unbelievably talented Khmer ladies to get us to this stage:

“There were many times the most experience sewer - Nuan- told me there was a better way or I had it wrong…. She was always right! by 3oclock I was redundant!

They will teach me a thing or two about the patterns tomorrow I reckon!

Wendy said the same woman was scared to look at a westerner, or even speak a while ago, now she is bossing me and Wendy around we love it - couldn’t be prouder. They are owning it and have loads of initiative”.

Thanks Eb and Wendy and all the ladies for helping try and eliminate period poverty - one pair of undies at a time
